Apr 30, 2020 · The issue I found was that I logged into my unbuntu desktop as user recorder but root was trying to run the service and attach to the desktop. This is what my service file looks like. I added the User=recorder and Group=recorder. The service then started at the user logged into the GUI and it worked!
